East Side Gallery

The iconic East Side Gallery in Berlin, Germany is the largest open-air gallery in the world. It stretches for 1.3 kilometers along the remnants of a part of the Berlin Wall between the Oberbaumbrücke and Ostbahnhof, transforming a symbol of division into a celebration of freedom and artistic expression.

The urban landscape around the East Side Gallery has transformed over the years, reflecting the broader changes in Berlin. The area has seen significant gentrification and controversial development, yet efforts to preserve the gallery and its historic significance have also intensified. Ongoing debates continue about finding the right balance between modern development and historical preservation.
